Formula Fusion 2011
Race Report - Grand Final, Rye House
The Formula Fusion Grand Final took place at the historic Rye House racing circuit in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.
The top five drivers from all the regional qualifiers across the country descended upon Rye House to showcase
their driving skills, compete for the accolade of being the Formula Fusion Karting Champion 2011 and win a five supercar driving experience.
The event began with a qualifying session where laps determined grid positions and was followed by a 40 minutes
Grand Prix style race around the demanding Rye House track.
From the outset there were three drivers who were ahead of the pack and doggedly fought amongst themselves for
positions on the podium, however it was Simon Ager who delivered a truly dominating performance, finishing the
race first with a 10 second lead over second placed Sturat Stretton and a 12 second lead over third placed Nick Kelly.

"The driving demonstrated at this Grand Final was incredibly competitive and made for a thrilling race. The drivers were so keen
that rumour has it that some of them visited Rye House to put in some practice sessions in the week leading up to the race"
said Sarah Jones, Business Development Executive of Mills.
Winner Simon Ager of Branch Technologies said, "Thank you to all involved with the setting up and running of the Formula
Fusion Karting Championship. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time at both Buckmore Park and Rye House and it was great to meet
the Fusion team and check out the Fusion range up close. The supercar day at Goodwood is a great prize"
Simon's prize is a fantastic 5 Supercar Driving Experience at Goodwood, featuring three laps in each of a Lamborghini Diablo,
Ferrari 355, Ferrari 360, Porsche 911 and Aston Martin Vanquish.
